White is a color made up of all colors in the spectrum.


White is the color make by mixing red, blue and green. When objects does not alter the color of light it reflect, the color is white. White is often related to purity and cleaniness. Asian cultures

    * In China, traditionally, white was the symbol of West and Metal, one of the main five colors.
    * In Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Indian and Japanese tradition, white is the color of mourning and death.
    * In Indian tradition, white is also the color of purity and sacredness. It is also used for depicting Peace and Purity. However it is also the color of mourning. People wear white after death of any of their family members.

Dress code

    * In a highly-formal social function, the traditional dress for men attending is white tie or "white tie and tails"-- a white bow tie and a swallowtail coat.
    * Physicians and scientists are known for wearing white coats both as a practical measure as protection against spills and infection, and as a sort of uniform showing authority.

    * Black Friday (shopping) occurs the day after Thanksgiving. The idea is that the shopping that begins on this day can put a company into the black (i.e., make a profit) for the year and Black Friday Ads are often put out a few days before the date.

Fashion

    * In Western fashion, black is considered stylish, sexy, elegant and powerful.
    * The colloquialism "X is the new black" is a reference to the latest trend or fad that is considered a wardrobe basic for the duration of the trend, on the basis that black is always fashionable. The phrase has taken on a life of its own as a snowclone, and has been stretched and parodied as a rhetorical device and a cliché.

I have off white kitchen cabinets and white counter tops. I used to wall paper that is now removed. What color walls would look good ? The backsplash is mostly white with some dark green tiles.
I have a open kitchen that flows into our living room. I would like to have a Country black & white kitchen but am lost on what color I should paint (NO white) the walls since my living room will be painted Taupe/grey.
What colors should I put on the walls? My dining room is spanish red, my foyer is chocolate brown and my great room is currently a caramel color that we need to change. Do we need to do the kitchen and great room the same? They are open to each other. Also, my kitchen cabinets are an orangey oak, dark granite with specks of black,gray,white and a specks of blue.
