I have a small home ethernet network using a LinkSys router. My Dell XPS desktop has two 120 GB SAT hard drives. All computers connected to the network are running Windows XP. I do video editing work and need reliable speedy external hard drive storage. |
I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop with a basically full 100 GB hard drive. I would like to put in a larger internal hard drive (320 GB), but would like to use the old drive as an external. Would it be easier and more economical to:
1) Buy a new internal drive and an external USB housing for my old drive?
or
2) Buy an external 2.5" drive, remove it from the housing and switch it with my current drive?
If #2, do you have a recommendation of which drives would be easiest to remove?
Thanks! |
Can I replace an average-size internal hard drive with a really big internal one? Are there any important drawbacks/disadvantages to a really large internal hard drive [maybe 500 gigabytes]? |
