The ideal MP3 player has not yet been created, and while the Sansa e2xx series is very good for many of the things, the software is poor for podcasts. Also, it should be possible to put the sofware into a reduced eyesight mode (for someone with less than perfect vision; i.e., anyone over 50). Reduced eyesight mode would eliminate all the fancy screen graphics and provide the largest text possible so that it can be read without glasses by the average 50 year-old or under less than ideal lighting conditions. The size of the screen is large enough to provide terrific readability -- if the software supported it. In addition, there should be a mode that alters the display to show as much metadata as possible, including the full title. This would allow the user to have as much information as possible about an individual file, without actually listening to it.
The Sansa e2xx series is not good for podcasts. The reason is that the tagging scheme for podcasts is not uniform. Therefore, it is difficult to navigate among many podcasts and podcasts are organized haphazardly. Sansa should provide an alternative operating system that allow Windows-style navigation, with automatic display of full metadata. Rockbox (an open source operating system that works with Sansa e2xx) is a pretty good alternative solution. However, it is still in beta and it is flawed. Sansa should provide a fully operational operating system that is fully functional for podcast users.

I bought a new Zen Nano Plus MP3 player. The booklet didn't tell you now to transfer music from cd player to MP3. |
My digital camera and ipod have pretty much died. I need to get a new one, but I can't commit to anything. Short of a divining rod, what should I do?
The cameras I'm stuck on are a Canon Powershot, a Casio Exilim, or a Panasonic Lumix. I want a small camera but I also like optical zoom.
As for the mp3 player, I don't want Steve Jobs to get my money but I'm worried I'll be disappointed with anything less than 60 gb. The 8 gb SanDisk Sansa looks really good, but my boyfriend is sure I'll only be hapy with the 80 gb ipod.
This is too distracting and I need to stop worrying about it! |
I just got an MP3 player and know nothing at all about how to get music on them. (I am not a technical person at all. I am old and barely can use computer)
It is a 4G and is not an IPod kind of MP3 player. It is a Sandisk Sansa brand/kind.
I have no idea of places to download music from. Only interested in music. No videos (the MP3 doesn't have a video screen) and no other downloads.
I am mainly interested in gospil music, bigband music (music of the 1940's and WWII era), easy listening kind of music, and some oldies rock (1950's, 1960's and a little bit of the 1970's)
Thanks for any help you can give....................... |
