Meta:Article Name Length Limitation

Article names on amapedia must be fewer than 160 characters long.

Articles which were preserved from the original "product wiki" feature on Amazon.com were usually associated with items in the product catalog.  When we gave those articles their own names in amapedia, we used the full catalog name as the title.  Some of those items have names which exceed the amapedia length limit, so they were truncated.

Because amapedia articles are no longer associated with Amazon.com catalog items, you can now exclude from article names much of the extra information that often appears in Amazon.com catalog titles (such as special shipping offers or book formats).  We recommend that the name of a product article contain exactly the name of the product, and perhaps some extra text in parentheses if there is any chance of confusion.  You can associate a single article (say, a book series) with multiple products (say, the individual books in the series) using fact tags.
