HOMM3 picks up where MM6 ends. Queen Catherine learned of her father, King Gryphonheart, has been killed and the kingdom of Erathia had been thrown into disarray. Suspecting foul play, and the great potential for neighboring aggressors to take advantage of the situation, she leaves Enroth for Erathia with a fleet of warships. When she arrives in Erathia, her suspicions are confirmed. She finds a war ensuing, with warlords and evil barons coming out of the woodwork seeking to redraw the territorial boundaries of the land. Battling to Erathia’s capitol city of Steadwick, Catherine sets herself up as Queen and beginsrestoring the land’s original borders. Of chief concern are the Necromancers, whom Catherine suspects are behind the murder of her father’s death.
The Necromancers raise large hordes of undead and advance unexpectedly towards the Erathian capitol. Queen Catherine enlists the aid of her father’s generals and embarks on a crusade to reclaim her lost land and uncover the truth about her father’s death. Along the way, other kingdoms will test her and see how much harassment they can get away with. The Elven Kingdoms close to her own will also prove stubborn neighbors, and Queen Catherine will need to find some way to gain their allegiance.
Thus begins the story of Heroes of Might and Magic 3. As the commander of Queen Catherine’s forces, you must do her bidding and battling her enemies, reclaiming the lost lands of Erathia, quelling unruly neighbors, and battling the Necromancer’s armies. Later on, several twists and turns will worm their way into the plot, and the story will grow even more complex. In the beginning though, you know simply that Erathia must be restored to its former glory and that Queen Catherine must avenge her father’s death.

It seems like role playing systems are constantly updating their mechanics, coming out with new source books, and evolving in general. There are also new systems coming out all the time.
What are your favorite systems? Do you think specific systems are better for some kinds of games or others? |
I did minor role playing a while back, and since the website is no longer up, I just need a new one to busy myself with :3. I was only to enjoy the website for a short time too, and since I have nothing better to do, I want to find a good, new website. I'm not that good of a role player so most websites don't enjoy my being :/. So help me!....plz....? And I mean like a text based one, not like fiesta or maple story or anything like that. |
I'm trying to find an older board game and I can't remember it's name. It was a fantasy dungeon game, I think it was 2 to 8 players, with everyone playing against each other. It was a single flat board, with a square grid pattern over top of a castle, complete with entrance, main floor, tower and dungeon. It had no stand up props other then the player tokens, which were small metal or plastic figurines. Starting from the castle entrance, all players roll to move in the castle to find the treasure scattered within. Players can uncover treasure to us against other players and place them into the dungeon, steal another players item or items like "ring of teleportation" to help move around the castle. Players fight against one another by using the items uncovered from opening treasure. The player who finds the winning item(s) and makes it back to the entrance first, wins.
This is as much as I can remember. =P
Thanks for your help. |
