Drummer / percussionist Bobby Sanabria is a native New Yorker with Puerto Rican parentage who has performed and recorded with many of the most celebrated names in the Afro-Cuban and Jazz fields including Mongo Santamaria, Tito Puente, Dizzy Gillespie, Paquito D'Rivera, and Mario Bauza. He is also an articulate scholar on both styles. Bobby holds a B.M. from the Berklee College of Music and is on the faculties of Drummers Collective in New York and the New School Jazz Dept. He is also the leader of the critically acclaimed ensemble Ascension.
