Extreme Democracy

Jon Lebkowsky will have a book signing following his panel at SXSW Interactive on Saturday, March 11.

Interesting Askville Questions:
......what could we expect to happen here in America in the short and/or long run? What other forms of government might take over or what might be a comparable substitution for democracy, if any? (Yes, it is a totally unrealistic question {probably} and hypothetical to the extreme {maybe} but I have this curiosity streak in me that just won't quit)
I'm looking for an old movie staring Melissa Gilbert name Forbidden Nights( Lifetime) . She plays Judith Shapiro, a graduate student from Berkeley that takes a position as a teacher in China right before the struggle for Democracy at Tianamen Square. Do anyone know where I can find the movie on either VHS or DVD
Or is it really a "Republic" and a representative democracy at best. A system where we are lulled into believing that our votes really count when they really do not? Which is it? What countries on Earth have true democracies... I maintain that the USA is not one of them.
