Interesting Askville Questions:
I have a great time whenever I go bicycling or rock climbing, and they both give me a great workout while I'm having fun. What other sorts of fun activities do you enjoy, that give you the benefit of exercise as well?
Karas' "Cardio-Free Diet" does include resistance training, and readers comment that "their heart is still getting a good workout." I can agree with the premise that the treadmill doesn't 'consume' enough calories to affect your weight directly (or not much), and that resistance training builds larger muscles that are more metabolically "hungry". But looking at the title of the book, one could easily assume that aerobic exercise is unimportant. What about HEALTH and cardiovascular fitness -- body fat levels aside? I'd be interested to hear different views on this.
Has anyone played a popular board game called The Fitness Challenge (www.fitnesschallenge.com)? It addresses the motivation issue by creating an exercise competition between 2 people for 8 weeks. I read articles about it in People Magazine and in Women's World. Amazon sells it.
