There are many display size for both computer monitors and TV. The typical size are usually referred to as the measurements across the screen by inches in the United States. Aspect ratio is also relevant to display size with 4:3,16:10 and 16:9 as common aspect ratios.
Common screen sizes in LCD Monitor are:
- 17-19": 1280x1024 (SXGA)
- 20"+: 1600x1200 (UXGA)
- 17" (Widescreen): 1280x800 (WXGA)
- 19" (Widescreen): 1440x900 (WXGA+)
- 22" (Widescreen): 1680x1050 (WSXGA+)
- 23.6" (Widescreen): 1920x1080 (WUXGA)
- 23" (Ultra-Widescreen): 2048x1152 (QWXGA)
- 24" (Widescreen): 1920x1200 (WUXGA)
- 30" (Widescreen): 2560x1600
Common LCD TV screen monitors can be 30",40",42",46" and up to 60+".
Prices of LCD TV and monitors have come down dramatially. You can usually buy them for really cheap on Black Friday with door buster prices. You can also get Dell Coupon to buy the monitors for cheap these days. 27"LCD TV are generally about $200+

I have an older contractor tablesaw, which looks from pictures to be very similar to a Delta 36-979, (although it carries another brand). The cast iron table and wings measure 36 inches wide and 23 inches deep (compared to what I think is 27 inches deep for the Delta and many common US saws).
I'm keen to buy an aftermarket rip fence. The Delta 36-T30 T2 looks to be just the thing,, however although it looks on some pictures of saws to extend well past the back of the table, it is not clear that this is so, nor how the fence will attach to a rear rail at a point less than the full end of the fence.
I live outside the US, and cannot go to a store to look and ask questions, so I'd be very grateful to receive any advice as to whether I can make this fit.

The opening is approx 30 inches and will have a screen on it and it will not be near anything that will block the top, i.e. buildings. |

I went to Home Depot and Lowes, and the widest piece of lumber (Other than the flatboard/particle board type stuff) I could find was 12 inches. I'm looking for something that's 1" x 14" x 4'. Not too picky on the type of wood... just something that can be stained and will look nice
Does such a thing exist? If so, where can I get it?
